Human-Centered Resilience Engineering
We are also studying system level issues concerning humans and human activities, i.e. human-centered systems engineering. Currently, we are focusing on the resilient characteristics of human systems such as team, organization, and society, and are exploring what makes such systems resilient against various inner- and outer-perturbations and how we can make a system more resilient.
Context Modeling and Service Cognition
We are studying HF/E issues in various working domains such as ATC, medical/nursing, transportation, etc. One of the common and challenging problems in such filed comes from context-dependency. We are trying to understand the nature and the mechanism of such context-dependent cognitive behaviour and also to model the context itself.
Cognitive Human Factors in Team Cooperation
We have proposed a new theoretical model of team cognition based on the concept of mutual beliefs, and are working on applying this model to various HF/E issues on team cooperation including team SA assessment, team communication analysis, and so on, as well as extending this model to community and society cognition.
