Admission The Department of Systems Innovation offers advanced study and research opportunities to international students. Master's and Doctoral courses will lead to the corresponding degrees respectively in two years and three years. Lectures and instructions for research are given generally in English. Japanese language courses are optionally available. There are primarily three schemes of admission: regular admission process, special graduate program, and MEXT scholarship by embassy recommendation. Regular Admission Process Those who wish to enter the department usually take an entrance examination at the beginning of September. The examination is carried out either in Japanese or in English. Successful applicants can enter the department in October of the same year or in April of the following year. Those who wish to apply to this process must submit the application form and required documents with examination fee to the office of Graduate School of Engineering. Special Graduate Program in Engineering for Systems Innovation The Special Graduate Program in Engineering for Systems Innovation is an educational program only for international students. The students enrolled in this program will be awarded by scholarship from Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Those who wish to apply to this program must submit the application form and required documents to the International Student Office, Department of Systems Innovation, Graduate School of Engineering by the beginning of January. MEXT Scholarship by Embassy Recommendation Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) will offer scholarship for international students by embassy recommendation.
